What reaches Lunar Paper
- Aggregate website traffic information from Cloudflare.
- Purchase, subscription and licence information supplied through Dodo Payments.
- Product telemetry, which starts enabled and can be turned off by an administrator.
- Anything you choose to post publicly on the GitHub community or send to the Lunar Paper email address.
Website and analytics
Cloudflare hosts, delivers and protects lunarpaper.com. In doing that, Cloudflare processes network and request information such as an IP address, requested URL, routing information and security signals.
Cloudflare also provides aggregate analytics, including page views, requested URLs, referring sites, countries and response information. Cloudflare says its Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage, fingerprint visitors, or track people across different websites. Read the Cloudflare Web Analytics overview and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Lunar Paper does not add an advertising tracker or build an advertising profile from website visits. Cloudflare may set cookies where they are needed for security or other services it provides.
Purchases
Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for paid licences. Its checkout collects the identity, contact, billing, payment, transaction and device information it needs to process the purchase, prevent fraud, calculate tax and meet its legal obligations.
Lunar Paper receives the customer, order, product, subscription and licence information needed to fulfil and manage the purchase. It does not receive your full card details. Dodo Payments handles this information under its Privacy Policy.
Product telemetry
Product telemetry is separate from the content stored in your installation. Both telemetry levels start enabled. An administrator can inspect the exact payload, test the connection without sending it, send it manually, or change either level under Administration → Telemetry.
| Information | What is sent | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Installation | A randomly generated installation ID, product version, licence status and product, the business type selected by an administrator, server timezone, and the time the report was sent. | Level 1 starts on. Turning it off stops automatic installation reporting. |
| Application use | Monthly totals of how many times each application was opened across the whole installation. The totals are not broken down by person, workspace or service. | Level 2 starts on. Turning it off stops both counting and sending these totals. |
| Approximate country | The receiving Cloudflare service derives a country from the request. The IP address is not written to the Lunar Paper telemetry database. | Included when a telemetry report reaches the service. |
An automatic report is scheduled about once every seven days and is sent to telemetry.lunarpaper.com. Turning both levels off stops automatic reports. A manual Send action sends the level selected by the administrator even when its automatic switch is off.
Telemetry never includes names, email addresses, user or workspace identifiers, documents, form submissions, uploaded files, hostnames or other content. Received telemetry currently has no automatic deletion schedule.
Community and email
The Lunar Paper community is hosted in GitHub Discussions. Posts, replies, profile details and other information you publish there are public. GitHub processes account and usage information under the GitHub Privacy Statement. Do not post passwords, licence keys, private customer information or anything else you do not want made public.
If you email hello@lunarpaper.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your address, message and any attachments to Lunar Paper’s Microsoft Outlook mailbox so Ben Martinson can respond. That processing is subject to the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Retention, access and deletion
Purchase records are kept as needed to provide licences and subscriptions and to meet accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and other legal obligations. Email is kept for as long as it is useful for the conversation or required as a business record. GitHub, Dodo Payments, Microsoft and Cloudflare apply their own retention rules to information they control.
To ask what information Lunar Paper holds about you, request a correction or deletion, or request deletion of an installation’s telemetry record, email hello@lunarpaper.com. Include the installation ID shown under Administration → Telemetry for a telemetry request. Some records may need to be retained where the law requires it.
Lunar Paper is operated by Ben Martinson in Australia. This page may change when the product or the services used to provide it change; the date above will be updated when that happens.
